Biography

Natascha McElhone was born in Walton-on-Thames in 1971 and raised in Brighton by her journalist parents.

Natascha currently lives in West London with her husband, Dr. Martin Hirigoyen Kelly, a reconstructive plastic surgeon and their two sons.

She took to the stage at an early age with Irish dancing lessons at the age of six, and continued with her burgeoning career in show business by studying at The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art for three years, graduating in 1993.

Early credits for theatre work include roles in London and Manchester productions of Richard III at Regent’s Park, The Count of Monte Cristo, The Cherry Orchard at the Leicester Haymarket and Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Open Air Theatre.

Her first television appearance occurred in 1994 as an army officer in A Breed of Heroes. Other television credits include the ever-popular Absolutely Fabulous and the acclaimed Dennis Potter TV mini-series Karaoke.

Surviving Picasso in 1996 was her film debut, closely followed by The Truman Show and Ronin.

More recently, she has appeared in FearDotCom and starred in Steven Soderbergh’s Solaris with George Clooney. Her newest film, The Other Boleyn Girl, is a BBC production.
