A day after revealing she is pregnant with her first child, Minnie Driver confessed she is already thinking about baby names for the tot.

"I have a pretty silly name," the British actress told Ellen DeGeneres on an episode of her chat show.

"Driver is kind of a hard name to put with a first name, particularly boys names. My friend sent me an email saying I should call the baby Duncan Driver. Then I can call it Dunk Driver, Pile Driver, Rally Driver."

However, Minnie, who stars alongside Eddie Izzard in US drama series The Riches, reckons she is actually expecting a girl.

"I'm hoping for a girl," she said. "I think it's a girl. Most of the women in my family get super girthy early on and I've got to say that's why I have this nice chiffon dress on. I'm fat."

Minnie revealed she is already more than four months along in her pregnancy but was reluctant to make an announcement any earlier.

"I didn't do an announcement because I'm not really an announcement girl," she said.

Minnie Driver is apparently pregnant.

The Good Will Hunting star was reportedly overheard at a screening of Oliver Parker’s new film Fade To Black at Notting Hill’s Electric Cinema this week, turning down a glass of champagne.

According to the Daily Mail, Minnie said: "I can’t - I’m pregnant."

The 38-year-old actress revealed she is expecting a girl but did not disclose the identity of the baby’s father.

Minnie is believed to be dating a script-writer on her hit US show The Riches.

Last month it was claimed Minnie had been spotted outside a Los Angeles baby clinic looking at sonogram images with a friend.

A source said: "She is absolutely thrilled. She has always wanted to be a mother."

The Hope Springs actress also called her boyfriend, known only as Matthew, outside the surgery and talked about "getting blood work done".

She reportedly then said to her friend: "Matthew says I should be quiet so no-one hears me."

Actress/singer Minnie Driver is auctioning off mobile pictures of herself on eBay to raise money for charity. The ten day auction opened on August 15th with proceeds going to Maggie Cancer Caring Centers. Besides her recent goodwill, Driver is busy filming her new project starring alongside Jennifer Lopez and Antonio Banderas.

Minnie Driver is to help rebuild mosques following the Tsunami. The star, currently appearing in Will and Grace, is arranging a holiday with a difference following the tragic Asian Tsunami in December. Minnie has been in talks with Oxfam about heading to Indonesia or Thailand - two of the worst hit countries - to help to rebuild schools, temples and mosques as part of the relief effort. She explained "celebrity is a weird appendage unless you do something useful with it."
