Screen sex tough for Gillian - 30 Aug 2007
Gillian Anderson has revealed how awkward it was to film sex scenes for her latest role - not helped by the fact it was freezing.
The 39-year-old stars alongside Danny Dyer in movie thriller Straightheads, set in the Midlands, with one steamy scene shot in a car parked in Shropshire.
She told the Daily Express: "The scene was filmed in the dead of night, with all the crew standing around with fires to keep us warm. The sides of my dress needed to be stuck to me or it would have fallen wrong."
The red-haired actress added: "I had to have two tapes on my side. But because it was so cold, the tape wasn't working, and my dress kept peeling off too soon.
"My lover's job was to cover the tape while we in the middle of pretending to have sex. It wasn't easy. That is my memory of sex in Shropshire."
Gillian ’back in X Files’ - July 17 2007
Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny are apparently set to be reunited once more for a new feature-length X Files movie this autumn.
The pair played Mulder and Scully in the long-running sci-fi series up until 2002.
David, 46, told the Daily Express: "Gillian is on board and I’m on board. It’s November for a summer release."
But even the actors are in the dark about the precise storyline though, as director Chris Carter is keeping details close to his chest.
"I’ve been talking to Chris and he’s been giving me some progress reports," said David. "He actually called yesterday and said, ’Next week you should have something to read’."
David is enthusiastic, but Gillian might be more reserved about the project. She once described the on-set atmosphere of the original show as "gossipy and incestuous".
The pair made a previous movie, based on the hit TV show, back in 1998.
Gillian slams talk of TV return - April 22 2007
She may have starred in one of television’s biggest hits, but The X-Files star Gillian Anderson has said - in no uncertain terms - that she has no plans to make a TV comeback.
The 38-year-old actress, who owes her success to her nine-year stint as Special Agent Dana Scully on the hit TV show, told Telegraph journalist John Preston that there’ll be no TV comeback.
"Are you kidding me? My God, I don’t even watch television. I don’t like television. I never have liked it. The whole concept of sitting down in front of a TV feels like one of the things that’s destroying society, as far as I’m concerned," she said in a quote published in the New York Post.
The mother of two, who has since swapped television for occasional film and theatre roles, recently described her time working on The X-Files as "incredibly traumatic", in an interview with Stellar magazine.
"I couldn’t get out of it. I didn’t have a choice," she said of her time on the long-running show, which came to an end in 2002.
X-Files movie in pipeline? - April 4 2007
Gillian Anderson has confirmed that film bosses are in talks about a possible sequel to the X-Files movie.
The actress told Empire magazine a second feature version of the sci-fi TV series might finally be on the cards after years of speculation.
"They’re starting to talk about doing a feature again," she said.
"Every year or two they talk about it again, but it seems like it might be for real this time. Somehow it seems like somebody’s really serious about it."

Eventually the family moved back to the States and settled in Grand Rapids. Her father now runs a film post-production company and her mother is a computer analyst. After graduating from City High School in 1986, Gillian studied acting at the prestigious DePaul University’s Goodman Theatre and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts.
After her degree, Gillian headed to New York at the age of 22 to pursue a career in acting. Gillian’s first big break came she landed a role in the off Broadway play ’Absent Friends.’ It was for her performance in this production that Gillian won a Theatre World Award in 1991.
Gillian did one more play, ’The Philanthropist,’ which was performed at the Long Wharf Theatre in New Haven, Connecticut, and a low budget film starring Tess Harper and Karen Allen called ’The Turning’ before relocating to LA to pursue a career in film.
In 1993, Gillian auditioned for a TV pilot on a newly formed Fox Network called The X-Files, in which she auditioned for the role of Special Agent Dana Scully and the rest is history. The X Files were a huge success.
Gillian met Clyde Klotz, the series assistant art director at the time and on New Year’s Day of 1994, Gillian and Clyde flew to Hawaii and got married on the 17th hole of a golf course.
A few months later Gillian found out that she was pregnant and her daughter, Piper, was born in September of 1994.
Gillian was honoured with a SAG Award in 1996 as Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series and was also nominated for an Emmy in 1996 for the same category.
Since the demise of the X-Files, Gillian has been rather reluctant to pander to media pressure on this subject and instead has returned to the stage where she has appeared in a number of West End productions. She has also been on our small screens in the BBC’s adaptation of Bleak House.
She has moved back to London and is currently living in Notting Hill.
