Emily cast in Scorsese film? - Feb 28 2008
British actress Emily Mortimer has reportedly been cast opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in a new film by Oscar-winning director Martin Scorsese.

The 36-year-old Match Point star is due to play an escaped inmate from a hospital for the criminally insane in Shutter Island, which also stars fellow British thespian Sir Ben Kingsley, the Daily Express reports.

An insider was quoted as saying: "To be cast by someone like Scorsese is a massive boost in terms of a Hollywood career. It could take her career to another level."

Emily is best known for her role as Inspector Clouseau's secretary in The Pink Panther, and is due to appear in the sequel which is out next year.

The source said she was due for a big break.

"Emily hasn't had overnight success since she moved back to America a few years back, but has steadily built up her reputation with a number of impressive performances."

Emily ’told to flaunt assets’ - Nov 5 2007
Emily Mortimer has apparently been urged to change her image if she wants to land bigger roles in Hollywood.

The Match Point actress, 35, has admitted that her management team in America are encouraging her to flash more flesh when she goes for all-important auditions, reports the Daily Express.

Emily is quoted as saying: "I’m constantly being told I’m not sexy enough and I should show my boobs more. I’m told that I’ve got good breasts and I should make them more apparent when I go to meetings. But I don’t suit that sort of thing and I can’t carry it off."

And it seems the daughter of Rumpole writer John Mortimer has been told to show off more than just her assets.

She added: "I’ve also been told to dye my hair and get my teeth whitened. This is a weird, weird job!"

Emily is currently filming Pink Panther 2, which is due to be released in 2009.
