No nude ending for This Life - Dec 21 2006
An alternative nude ending to the new This Life episode has reportedly been axed by the BBC.
The cult drama is returning to BBC Two on January 2 after a decade off our screens.
But one of its stars, Daniela Nardini - who is better known as outspoken lawyer Anna - has revealed they filmed two different versions of the closing scenes, but the raunchy one won’t see the light of day.
According to The Sun, Daniela said: "We shot two different endings. In one I run down the gravel after Miles, naked apart from a pair of heels. But that one is not being used."
Two series of the drama were aired in 1996 and 1997. It told the story of a group of twentysomethings - played by Daniela, Love Actually star Andrew Lincoln, Pirates Of The Caribbean actor Jack Davenport, and Luisa Bradshaw-White from Holby City.
The new 90-minute episode, penned by original writer Amy Jenkins, will update viewers on what life is like for the now-thirtysomethings.

This Life returns for 2006! If you have been mourning the demise of one of televisions all time favourite series, you need no longer.
After ten years, the BBC reconvened the original cast for a special one-off 90-minute follow-up, looking at what had happened to the lead characters in the intervening years. The resulting new episode of This Life, titled ’Ten Years On’, is due to be screened at Christmas 2006, and will be a co-production between BBC Wales and the original producers World Productions.

This Life star Daniela Nardini has spoken about a bitter feud, which has split her family. Her father Aldo and uncle Peter are embroiled in a bitter battle over the Nardini name after a fall out in the family business. They are one of Britain’s top ice-cream makers; the company was set up in Largs, Ayrshire, in the 1880s by Nardini’s great-grandparents, Pietro and Rosa who were impoverished Italian immigrants from Tuscany.
The 31-year old star, who is most famous for her role as the toffee-nosed bitch Anna in This Life, said; "I feel it is a huge loss for everyone. There are no longer any family left - the business has been taken over. It is just our name and our reputation."

Since these early days in the eye of the nation we’ve also seen her as a 60s feminist in Fay Weldon’s Big Women and a plainclothes policewoman with marriage problems in Undercover Heart.
More recently, Nardini has appeared in Festival, a film comedy about the Edinburgh Festival. Although the film was not well received by critics and performed poorly at the box office, it was nominated for six Scottish BAFTAs.
Her electrifying performances as Anna in This Life may have won her British television’s most glittering prize, a British Academy Award (BAFTA) for Best Actress, but it left Daniela Nardini’s nearest and dearest distinctly unimpressed, ‘My granny didn’t like it very much,’ she says. ‘She kept asking me why I had to swear so much. She couldn’t understand why I couldn’t have played some Jane Austen-type heroine instead.’
The Nardini name originates in Italy - her family are ice cream makers from Tuscany who migrated to Paisley in 1890. Daniela grew up with her family in the fishing town of Largs on the West Coast of Scotland, where the Nardinis have run a restaurant and café bearing the family name since the 30s.
Daniela’s credits include Rough Treatment (2000) (TV), Tube Tales (99) (TV), Elephant Juice (99), Undercover Heart (98) (mini) TV Series, Big Women (98) (mini) TV Series, Reckless (97) (mini) TV Series, This Life (96) TV Series.
She is due to appear in a one off This Life Christmas Special in 2006.
